ARMY M-1936 CANVAS FIELD BAG
DATED 1943
The field bag issued in lieu of the haversack to officers and other personnel such as airborne troopers and armored crews.
It was carried on the back with the M-1936 suspenders, or slung on the side with its special strap.
There is a small pocket on one side of the gag, closed by a metal tack-on button.

All hardware appears to be accounted for and is in good working condition.

The cloth is solid at all wear spots

No rips, tears, holes or fraying noted.
This comes from my husband's collection Craig Pickrall, one of the Co-founders of the U.S. Militaria Forum who passed away Aug. 18, 2014.  He was the most awesome Militaria collector (and husband).  He loved to collect and spend hours on the Forum assisting anyone who had a question to be answered, he schooled me the best he could about his collection and all the resources and books he had so I might have a clue, he did an awesome job with who he was working with and what he had going on at the time :)
AS STATED ABOVE, THIS WAS MY HUSBAND’S COLLECTION.  PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT I WAS NOT THE COLLECTOR AND DO NOT CLAIM ANY EXPERTISE ON MILITRIA.  THE INFORMATION I POST COMES FROM REFERENCE BOOKS HE HAD AND WHAT I CAN FIND ON THE INTERNET.  I DO MY BEST TO GIVE AN ACCURATE DISCRIPTION OF THE ITEM POSTED.  I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ANSWER ANY TECHNICAL QUESTIONS ABOUT THE ITEM POSTED.  THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.
