    RESEARCHED HISTORY ON THE PRODUCTION OF THE
    WWII M1916 HOLSTER BY THE DOZEN PLUS COMPANIES
    THAT PRODUCED THEM DURING WORLD WAR TWO
    CONFIRMS THE FOLLOWING … PART OF GOVT. PRODUCTION GUIDELINES REQUIRED MANUFACTURERS TO MAKER STAMP & DATE THEIR HOLSTERS ON THE BACK …. HOWEVER .. BY JULY OF 1944, MOST COMPANIES SIMPLY STOPPED DATE STAMPING THE BACK, SO WWII M1916 HOLSTERS NOT DATED ON THE BACK WERE MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 1944 ONWARD.
    THEREFORE THIS UN-DATED GRATON & KNIGHT HOLSTER ..ACCORDING TO THEIR CONTRACT PRODUCTION RECORDS WAS MANUFACTURED
    BETWEEN JULY & DEC. 1944.

    ALL LEATHER & STITCHING REMAINS GOOD.
    FRONT FLAP SHOWS SLIGHT WEAR
    ( US ) IN OVAL REMAINS GOOD WITH SLIGHT WEAR TO THE RIGHT.   FLAP REMAINS BUTTERY SOFT.
    ALL RIVETS SECURE
    INSIDE HOLSTER & FLAP AREA & BLOCK REMAINS VERY CLEAN.
    NO REAL VERDIGRIS COLLECTION ...

    THONG REMAINS IN GOOD CONDITION, IS WRAPPED IN THE CLASSIC COIL WRAP &
    ADDS A GREAT LOOK TO THE HOLSTER.
