    Description

WWII US army wool blanket, olive / brown colored, no stripes or stamped features.  Measures 62" x 78", weighs approx 3 lbs 8 ounces. Made in 1942.  Very warm.
Tag says: (note some of the print is very faint and hard to read, so there may be some errors below)
    Chatham Manufacturing Co
    Cont. VA 69-QM-17486
    Dated 1-16-42
    Spec. No. 8-111A Type 1
    Stock No. 67-B-678
    Phila. W-M Depot
    and written:  Capt. Bennett
    Condition:
Blanket in good condition, but there is wear and writing on the tag.
There are no apparent holes in the blanket and the serged stitching along the top and bottom are in good condition with only a few loose on the corners.  Color is good with no fading (color variations in pictures are due to outdoor lighting).  No obvious thinning or fraying.  This is an estate sale find, item was stored in a plastic bag and did not appear to be used recently.  The only smell I detect is dust and wool, without musty or moth ball smells.
