US WW2 M1923 Dark OD Green M1 Garand Rifleman's Cartridge Belt. Modified. S339

Description

For sale here is a good looking US WW2 Army M1923 10 Pocket Rifleman's Cartridge Belt.  The bandolier belt is currently set for wear at 38", but should let out another 8 or so inches.  The belt has no legible US or maker markings, but you can see where the maker marking is on the back of the right side of the belt.  The belt has steel buckles and expansion ends and all grommets and snaps are brass.  The snaps are all klik it pull types, and all seem to be working.  Each of the cover flaps have had two neat holes added and the flaps are folded over and pushed down over the stud.  This makes each snap difficult to open, but they all seem to be working.  They are also hard to close with the additional canvas in the way.  The belt shows a good amount of wear, age, soiling, and use.  There are some stains and some fraying.  The biggest issue with this belt is that they canvas is WEAK BEHIND THE STUDS, and care will need to be used when opening and closing.  The belt is not about to fall apart, but as you can see the canvas shows fraying at the studs.  If you go yanking these open, the canvas may tear or further fray.  This will still make a great display piece, and it looks great with a combat worn look.  The belt canvas looks darker in hand than in the photos!
