    Description

******* PRICE is ******* This is a 1986 plaque that was presented to Wayne Cashman when he was working as a first-year scout and future assistant coach of the NHL's New York Rangers after his 18-year playing career with the Boston Bruins ended in 1983. The wood plaque measures 9 1/2 inches long and 3 inches wide. It was made for an event sponsored by the American Cancer Society. The society symbol is in raised gold on the plaque with FACE OFF 86 and WAYNE CASHMAN etched on the gold plating. Printed on the plaque is "In grateful acknowledgment of outstanding service to the cause of cancer control" and the American Cancer Society. This
award has some light wear along the edges. It hung in Cashman's home for many years until he auctioned off his hockey collection in 2012 (auction catalog is not included).
Nice item for any fan of Cashman, who was one of the toughest players and best fighters of the 1970s and 80s
