You are bidding on a very rare piece. These were issued to American pilots and crewman late in the war when Russia switched sides and became our allis. If a pilot or crew were downed over Russia these could be used to identify ones self. Photos show it open and folded front and back. I thought they were silk at first but told at Antiques Roadshow it is made of nylon and very rare,,, I've never seen one.
