M1903 Springfield Handguard Marked

M1903 Springfield Front Handguard Marked.
This has been in storage for 20+ years. It belonged to my dad who was a gun dealer who specialized in WWII weapons.
The finish on this is rich and smooth. There are a few dings which I tried to show in the pictures. It is a little dirty yet, but I did clean a little to see if I could find any markings. I did find a mark that looks like S-see picture. There are no cracks in the wood. If you would like more pictures let me know.
