  • Condition: Old field telephone. Unknow condition. Carrying case is leather and has some corrosion around screws and snaps, corner of cover flap stitching is coming apart. Crank handle is intact but turns hard. Telephone handset shows use. Battery compartment looks ok.

    Description

    Old field telephone. Possibly WWII vintage. Operating condition and function are unknown. The case is leather and has one corner of the stitching coming apart. The leather does not appear to be torn. There is some corrosion (green) around metal parts that contact the leather. The handset and cord show their age like the rest of the phone. The switch on the handset moves freely.  The hand crank on the side turns but seems stiff when turned.  Markings on front of leather case are worn but mostly readable. Markings on handset are in good shape with some wear. This a vintage piece of equipment and has seen use.
    I try to reuse packing material whenever possible.
