1976 Northrop Space Shuttle OFT-1 (STS-1) Ascent Propulsion Prediction ReportNorthrop Services was contracted by NASA Marshall to run mission trajectory models for the 1st flight of the Space Shuttle. This is called Orbital Flight Test-1 (OFT-1). Sometime around 1980 this was renamed STS-1.
Dated June 1976, this 500+ page report presents the preliminary Propulsion prediction during the ascent phase of the STS-1. This includes the Solid Rocket Boosters and Space Shuttle Main Engines.
It was obtained from a recent estate sale of a former NASA Propulsion engineer who worked the entire Shuttle program as a propulsion analyst.
Report is in five (5) parts -- Mission Simulation, Nominal Shuttle Performance Output Plots, Nominal Computer Program Output, SSME Engine Out at 107 seconds Plots and Computer Program Output.
